Tanguy le Calvé – 1 professional dan

Hello, my name is Tanguy Le Calvé and I’m 1 dan pro EGF.
I started playing Go at the age of 12, in 2007, after I’d made the link between the Goban that had been in my room for ages, forgotten by my father, and the manga I’d just read, Hikaru No Go.

Thanks to the French Youth team led by Fan Hui 2p and Motoki Noguchi 7d, I quickly reached my first dan. I continued taking part in about 10 tournaments every year, mostly in France and more recently in Europe where it’s important to travel around to meet stronger opponents. In 2015 I had the opportunity to study 6 months at the famous Ge Yuhong Go Academy in Beijing.

After all these wonderful experiences, it seemed obvious to me to turn to teaching so as to share what I’d learned, and to allow other people discover what makes the game of Go so mysterious and exciting.
